Children have a lot of time to spend but not much work to do. This allows us children to have as much fun as we want with no stress to deal with. But, as we grow older our work keeps getting more strenuous and we don’t have much time left for leisure. This is why I think that childhood is one of the most fundamental parts of our life when we learn more about the world and experience moments worth remembering. It was the month of October and my tenth birthday was approaching. I was very excited and I invited all my close friends and relatives. I borrowed some money from my father and decorated my house with balloons. I convinced my parents to buy me a big chocolate cake with my name written on it with vanilla cream. On 17th October, all preparations were made and a total of nine people came for my birthday. Although such few people came to my birthday, I wasn’t disappointed. I was an introvert and didn’t have many friends. I played chess, rock-paper-scissors, and several other fun games. I told them about my coin collection and they told me many interesting stories of their own. At around 7 p.m. it was finally time to cut the cake. I took the knife in my hand and cut into the cake as all my friends cheered and sang the “Happy Birthday” song in chorus. As soon as the song ended, I blew on the candle and everyone started clapping. I picked up the piece of cake and stuffed it into my mouth as the others laughed. The cake was delicious. Then my friends started handing me presents one by one. As I received the presents, I started opening them up in anticipation of what lay inside. I got a book, a drawing copy, colours, several boxes of chocolate and even a remote-controlled helicopter. It was the happiest day of my life. Nowadays people are concerned more about money, pride, and other superficial values. Our days are limited. Every person will die at one time or another. We should spend more time with friends and family, do exciting things and not care about what others think because, in the end, nothing matters. When you die, there’s no coming back.
